What’s a must-do activity while staying in Rovaniemi? Well, if you love dogs it’s definitely a husky sleigh ride! Come join us for this magical winter experience.

We already had our first husky sleigh ride this year and it was amazing. We drove our guests from Rovaniemi through the wonderful winter landscape of Lapland to a family-owned husky farm just outside town. As soon as we arrived, we could already hear the dogs barking and howling, they were so excited to get going. And so were we, but safety first. Of course, our guests needed some instructions on how to drive the sled, what to do and, more importantly, what not to do while standing on the sled.

But after a few minutes of explanations, it was finally time to get on the sleds and start the best adventure of your lifetime. It is a 10km ride, so our guests and we had plenty of time to enjoy this trip. And we had the perfect weather too! It was slightly snowing so the light of your headlamp would catch the falling snowflakes which looked amazing.

Husky Sleigh Ride

After getting back to the farm it got even better because we were able to cuddle with the dogs and they really love cuddles! While sitting in a warm teepee and enjoying a hot drink and a snack, we even got to see (and cuddle!) the small puppies that came running into the teepee.

That’s what I would call a perfect day for a dog lover: husky sleigh ride, cuddles and puppies. The day couldn’t have been better.
