The Lapland wilderness is amazing, on our tours we take you to destinations where you will have to walk through untouched woods in the Arctic and out onto a lake to watch the Aurora.

While watching the Aurora your tour guide will build a fire in one of the two places seen in this photo. The open fire is next to a Laavu and the fire in the small log cabin is called a Kota.  

This is another amazing thing about Finland, you can find these cabins all over the country and they have been put there by the Government to invite people out into the wilderness. The huts provide safety from the cold as there is generally a cabin full of wood for people to use.
