THE NORTHERN LIGHTS TOURS: 21 – 23 FEBRUARY 2020

21st of February 2020: Not a promising weather

On the 21st of February, the weather forecast was not very promising for the aurora to be visible. Despite that, the forecast was showing some clear sky near the border of Sweden. So our guide decided to drive in this direction.

While driving, the sky still wasn’t very promising, but the guide still tried to find someplace to see the auroras. Finally, the guide found some places where a little bit of the Northern Lights was visible through the cloud cover. So, there was little success in seeing auroras that night. For the remaining night, the guests were sitting around the fire, listening guide’s stories about Polar Lights.

22nd of February 2020: Not a sight of lights

On the 22nd of February, the Northern Lights did not appear in the sky due to a very cloudy sky. The weather in Lapland sometimes changer very fast. Sometimes it is good, but on that night – it was bad for the guests. Unfortunately, we can not do anything about it, although we want.

Despite that, our guests still enjoyed the night. We took our guests to different places in Lapland to show them the scenery, which was magical anyway. We also showed our guests how to make a fire in the traditional way. It was a joyful night.

23rd of February 2020: Magical aurora show

On the 23rd of February, the weather forecast was good, but we did not expect anything spectacular since it still was not extraordinarily good. It was showing a clear sky with some scattered clouds which was still good enough for the Rovaniemi area.

When the lights appeared at night, we were very surprised. The Northern Lights were much more stronger than we expected and an amazing show appeared in the sky. All our tours for that night found polar lights. It was a great night for everyone.
